Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) is set for a big win as the party is leading in four of the five poll bound states — Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, and Goa. The partywise trends show the BJP has crossed the majority mark in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Aam Aadmi Party is leading in Punjab. Counting of votes started at 8 am today, March 10.

Uttar Pradesh

As of 01:15 pm, more than five hours into counting, the Bharatiya Janata Party was leading on 258 seats of the total 403 seats. Samajwadi Party is leading on 112 seats. Apna Dal: 10, Rashtriya Lok Dal: 8, Bahujan Samaj Party: 3, and Congress: 1 seat. If BJP comes to power, Yogi Adityanath can create a history by becoming the first Uttar Pradesh chief minister to return to power after completing a full five-year term in office.

Uttarakhand

In Uttarakhand also, the BJP has taken a lead with the party leading on 46 seats of a total 70 seats. The Congress is leading on 21 seats.

Punjab

The trends in Punjab shows Aam Aadmi Party is leading on 91 seats of a total of 117 seats. Meanwhile, Congress is leading on 16 seats, the BJP leading on two seats and Shiromani Akali Dal on six seats.

Goa

In a total of 40 assembly constituencies in Goa, the BJP is leading on 18 seats while Congress trailing close behind with lead on 10 seats and AAP in two seats.

Manipur

Of all 41 seats in Manipur, BJP is leading in 20 seats while Congress in three seats and National People's Party in four seats. Status is known for 41 out of 60 constituencies in Manipur, as of 12:45pm.
