An Instagram ode to trees
Use the power of your picture and have a tree planted. Light and Life Academy and Rotary International launches an online contest.

The professional photography college named Light and Life Academy (LLA) has launched the contest on Instagram.
Light and Life Academy (LLA), a professional photography college in Lovedale, Nilgiris district, Tamil Nadu, launches an online contest on Instagram. "The idea is to encourage photographers to look at trees more closely and differently," Anuradha Iqbal, co-founder and director of LLA told Gaon Connection.
Those who registered will have to take a photograph of any aspect of a tree or trees, be it in their entirety or even just their leaves, the roots, the branches, twigs, flowers, the bark…
“We all know trees are important to us and the planet, and this is our way of ensuring each one of us can do something we love that will help a tree grow,” Anuradha added.

The Instagram contest launched by LLA is in collaboration with Rotary International that has pledged to plant one tree sapling and nurture it, for each participant of the contest.
The best 118 images received (Rotary celebrates 118 years of its existence in February) will be exhibited at the Rotary Sarvam event in Chennai on 10, 11 and 12 February, 2023.
