Farmers To "Choke Delhi" On Gandhi Jayanti

Thousands of farmers are marching towards Delhi. Their demands include inflation-based crop MSP, farmer pension, complete loan waiver among other things.

Farmers To Choke Delhi On Gandhi Jayanti

'Kisan Kranti Pad Yatra' is on it's way to Delhi, under the banner of Bharatiya Kisan Union. Farmers rally will reach Delhi on 2nd October.



This protest rally has a huge support of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand farmers. According to Kisan Union, Punjab and Haryana farmers would join them in Delhi.


Team Gaon Connection is following the 'Kisan Kranti Pad Yatra' on the ground. Farmers discussed various issues with our reporters near Partapur sugar mill in Meerut. Gaurav Tikait, The leader of Bhartiya Kisan Union and this 'Kisan Kranti Yatra', sitting in the middle. He is also the grandson of former farmer leader, Mahendra Singh Tikait




'Khet Me Kisan,' aka Farmers belong to farms, is written on this tractor. Since last year, farmers are taking their protests on streets across various parts of India.



Women farmers are also participating in 'Kisan Kranti Yatra'. Farmers seem to have prepared for a long protest. To ensure a strong communication network, they are equipped with mobile phones and battery backups. Some farmers have carried vegetables. Farmers of different political ideology have gathered in this march. Halting stations are witnessing heated debates on political and farming issues. However, some farmers are trying to keep calm by playing cards.
