"पूर्वांचल में ज्यादातर छोटे किसान हैं और उधार लेकर गन्ने की खेती करते हैं, पांच-छह महीनों से पेमेंट न मिल पाने से अब क्या कर सकते हैं किसान, बच्चों की पढ़ाई घर का खर्च सब इसी पर निर्भर है, ऐसे में किसान क्या करें।"

चौदह दिनों का दावा, मगर छह-सात महीने बाद भी चीनी मिल से भुगतान के इंतजार में किसान, चीनी मिलों को केंद्र सरकार के राहत पैकेज में गन्ना किसान अभी भी खाली हाथ।
