Millet cultivation and processing are highly labour intensive. Introduction of modern machines for weeding and husking of millets in Koraput has improved productivity, earning, and the health of the tribal farmers.

ओडिशा के मलकानगिरी के दूर दराज के गाँवों में शिक्षा के क्षेत्र में बदलाव आ रहा है। इसके पीछे हाथ है गाँव मित्रों का, जिनकी कोशिशों से प्रवासी मज़दूरों के बच्चे फिर से स्कूल जाने लगे हैं। कोविड महामारी के दौरान काफ़ी बच्चों का स्कूल छूट गया था। कम्युनिटी वॉलिंटियर द्वारा चल रहे इन केंद्रों पर अलग से कक्षाएँ चलती हैं, जिससे बच्चे एक बार फिर स्कूल जाने को तैयार हो जाएँ।

Learning centres set up in remote villages of Malkangiri district in Odisha persuade children of migrant labourers to return to schools that had closed during the pandemic. These centres, steered by community volunteers, offer remedial classes and help enrol kids in the government schools.
