Shri Sunil Kumar, is a former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre belonging to the 1987 batch. Born in Bihar, he did his post graduation in Sociology from Delhi University in 1986. In a career spanning over 36 years in the IAS, he served in the State for about 21 years and in Government of India for over 15 years. He has wide experience of serving in Finance, Taxation, Planning, Education and Social Welfare departments in the State and in Rural Development, Inland Waterways Authority of India under Ministry of Shipping, Commerce and Panchayati Raj Ministry in the Government of India. He is a visiting Senior Fellow associated with the newly launched Centre for Cooperative Federalism and Multilevel Governance (CFMG) in Pune International Centre.
