Ali Mohammad Najar from Budgam, Kashmir, is painfully aware that he is perhaps one of the last custodians of the craft of wooden utensils, which were once integral to every Kashmiri kitchen. The craftsman now works as a labourer and repairs wooden roofs to make ends meet.

Paitkar art, indigenous to Jharkhand, is startlingly vibrant and tells stories of the times, culture, music and traditions of the Paitkar community. The scroll painting is famous for its natural colours that are made and preserved using traditional methods without any chemicals. Dating back to the Gupta dynasty, this art form is in decline.

The 'Ten Thousand Creators Project' is an endeavour to establish a market which connects rural creators with an audience which is interested in the authentic and rooted products crafted by them. The launch event of the project is about to commence in Chhattisgarh's Bastar and will be attended by the state chief minister Bhupesh Singh Baghel. The event will also involve the signing of an MoU with the Slow Products Pvt Ltd and the Bastar district administration.
