Gaon Connection's recent report on the sorry state of the Lutheran Middle School in Chaibasa where Jharkhand's hero Birsa Munda studied, has caught the attention of the West Singhbhum district administration. The Regional Education Officer visited the school and submitted his report including requirements of the school.

On Jharkhand day today, the tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda is remembered with pride. But the school he went to in Chaibasa is struggling to stay afloat. The classrooms where he studied are gone, and along with that has disappeared a significant chunk of historical heritage. Local administration promises to look into the matter.

सिर्फ 25 साल की उम्र में अपने देश की रक्षा के लिए शहीद होने वाले बिरसा मुंडा भारतीय राष्ट्रीय आन्दोलन के जनजातीय विद्रोहों और क्रांति के प्रतीक के रूप में याद किये जाएँगे, और शायद यही वजह है की लोग उन्हें "भगवान बिरसा मुंडा" कह कर सम्बोधित करते हैं।

झारखंड दिवस पर आज आदिवासी स्वतंत्रता सेनानी बिरसा मुंडा को गर्व के साथ याद किया जाता है। लेकिन वह चाईबासा में जिस स्कूल में गए, वो स्कूल बचे रहने के लिए संघर्ष कर रहा है। जिन कक्षाओं में उन्होंने पढ़ाई की, वो अब नहीं हैं और इसके साथ ही ऐतिहासिक विरासत का एक महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा गायब हो गया है। स्थानीय प्रशासन ने मामले को देखने का वादा किया है।
