The hardships that he faced in accessing education in his childhood were so deeply etched in his psyche that Dr Shiv Balak Misra, a noted geologist, gave up his comfortable job in Canada and returned to his village in Uttar Pradesh to set up a school that has been providing education to rural children for the past 50 years.
