Shravan Kumar Devangan is a role model for teachers of government-run schools in India. A school in Mardapoty, Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, stands out with smart classrooms, a good ambiance, a kitchen garden and flowerbeds with both teachers and students taking care of them. It would be difficult to imagine such a school in a tribal village. But Devangan made it happen

Deepti Dixit single handedly manages 90 children, in class 1 to 5, of a primary government school in Dhanras village in Chhattisgarh. But rather than getting bogged down by the situation, she has introduced innovative methods of teaching the rural kids, and is also training local women in stitching and sewing. Dixit aims to bring the government school up to par with the education quality and resources of private schools.

A cluster of villages in Antagarh block in Kanker district in Chhattisgarh have been waiting since decades for the government to build a bridge so that they don't remain cut off during monsoon. They are already dreading the monsoon, which will cut them off for five months. Those elderly who may need medical intervention won’t get any and children would miss school for nearly five months
