Bihar is India’s most flood-prone state and recurring floods, apart from displacing millions every year, also contribute to human trafficking as poor families spend several months in flood relief camps from where their children are lured into ‘jobs’. Gaon Connection met several such children and here is what they told us.

The then Union Health Minister JP Nadda was quick in dissing the report as erroneous, but now Union Health Ministry is admitting it to be true. And, it’s not surprising that most of them are found in rural pockets of the country

It is not just the debilitating heat and long treks that make fetching water such a trial for the rural women. In Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, the water they bring for the family is also contaminated by unsafe levels of fluoride that poses a serious threat to their family's health. Can fluoride removal plants solve the growing problem of water contamination?
