गर्भावस्था के दौरान फूल दिखने के साथ ही अन्य बीमारियां जैसे कि, प्रसव के बाद बच्चेदानी का संक्रमण, जेर का रुक जाना, प्रसव के बाद फूल दिखाना, कम दूध उत्पादन इत्यादि होने का खतरा बढ़ जाता है। इसलिए गर्भावस्था के दौरान भैंसों की पोषण और प्रबंधन संबंधी देखभाल अत्यंत जरूरी है, जिससे पशु का इस रोग से बचाव किया जा सकता है और प्रजनन संबंधी अन्य बीमारियों को भी रोका जा सकता है।
