As part of a joint livelihood incentivisation programme run by a non-governmental organisation and the state government, eight villages in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district are utilising the rural waste by producing vermicompost. Community action aided by some NGOs has led to the revival of wells in the Khagaria district which has resulted in a decrease in the disease burden in some of the villages.
