देश में इस साल की शुरुआत में ही बढ़ी गर्मी ने न केवल दिहाड़ी मजदूरों और खेतिहर मजदूरों की सेहत पर असर डाला है, बल्कि उनकी आर्थिक स्थिति को भी प्रभावित किया है। और इसका असर देश की जीडीपी पर पड़ता है क्योंकि बढ़ते तापमान से काम के घंटे तो कम हुए ही हैं, और उत्पादकता पर भी असर पड़ रहा है।

It’s not just in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia where there has been a spate in deaths amidst heatwave conditions in the past week. In the neighbouring Deoria district, 48 deaths were reported between June 17-June 18 when the temperature surged to 45 degrees Celsius. One of these deaths was that of a 30-year-old father of two kids who was returning to his house after meeting his wife at his in-law’s place. Gaon Connection explores the circumstances in which the young man died.
