हिमालय की गोद में बसा ये देश अपने यहां बहने वाली 6000 से ज्यादा नदियों के लिए जाना जाता है और इसकी 96 फीसदी बिजली की जरूरतें पनबिजली से ही पूरी होती हैं। लेकिन जलवायु परिवर्तन के चलते तापमान बढ़ रहा है और ग्लेशियर पिघल रहे हैं। बारिश का पैटर्न भी अनियमित हो चला है। ऐसे में सौर ऊर्जा उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देने वाले एनर्जी मिक्स को अपनाना महत्वपूर्ण हो जाता है। इसे नेपाल की पनबिजली परियोजनाओं के साथ हासिल किया जा सकता है।
