Taking cognizance of the illegal mining of sand on the Budhabalanga river bed in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, the National Green Tribunal's East Zone has found flouting of regulations of multiple grounds. The tribunal also mentioned that the state authorities have been shielding the accused in the investigation. Details here.

In June, around 10,000 tribals from Dantewada, Sukma and Bijapur districts in Chhattisgarh gathered at NMDC complex in Kirandul village. The state-owned miner was planning to develop a large mine. The Bailadila hills where mining was to take place also housed the local deity of these tribals. The tribals staged a peaceful protest for five days. In the end, the government gave in. This was a massive victory for the tribals

मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने आंगनवाडी कार्यकत्रियों के मासिक मानदेय 5500 रुपये से बढ़ाकर 8,000 रुपये करने की घोषणा की है। लेकिन आंगनवाड़ी कार्यकत्रियां लिखित में आश्वासन चाहती हैं, क्योंकि उनका कहना है कि 2017 से उन्हें वृद्धि का वादा किया गया है, और इसका कुछ भी नहीं आया है।
