इस शोध के लिए शोधार्थियों ने अमेरिकी बाजार में सूचीबद्ध 200 सबसे बड़ी कंपनियों के आंकड़ों का विश्लेषण किया। कंपनियों के कार्बन फुटप्रिंट, उनके द्वारा किए जाने वाले प्रत्यक्ष जीएजची उत्सर्जन जैसे पहलुओं पर उनका आकलन किया गया।
