पिछले एक हफ्ते में भारी बारिश की वजह से मध्य महाराष्ट्र की नदियां उफान पर हैं। अगले कुछ दिनों में भी बारिश थमने के कोई आसार नहीं नजर आ रहे हैं। स्थानीय लोगों का अंदाजा नहीं था कि ऐसे अचानक से बाढ़ आ जाएगी। सरकार भी बाढ़ के लिए तैयार नहीं थी, इसलिए वह इससे बचने के लिए तैयारियां नहीं कर सकी। लेकिन अब यही बाढ़ लोगों के लिए प्रलयकारी साबित हो रही है।

बूंद-बूंद पानी को तरसने वाले महाराष्ट्र के मराठवाड़ा में इस बार इतना पानी बरसा है कि पानी से किसान बर्बाद हो गए हैं। Marathwada में 2 दिनों में बारिश और बाढ़ में लाखों हेक्टेयर फसल बर्बाद हुई है। 22 लोगों की मौत हुई है और 393 पशुओं की जान गई है। विदर्भ में भी हालात बद्तर हैं।
