'ऑनलाइन शिक्षा के भ्रम' नाम से किए गए सर्वे में पाया गया कि 'ऑनलाइन पढ़ाई' की पहुंच 60 फीसदी से अधिक बच्चों तक नहीं है और यह शिक्षा की गुणवत्ता पर भी व्यापक असर डालती है। यह सर्वे देश के पांच राज्यों छत्तीसगढ़, मध्य प्रदेश, राजस्थान, उत्तराखंड और कर्नाटक में किया गया।

जब महामारी की वजह से स्कूल बंद कर दिए गए, उस समय कर्नाटक सरकार ने ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों के सार्वजनिक पुस्तकालयों में सुधार के लिए एक कार्यक्रम शुरू किया। राज्य के 1.8 मिलियन से ज्यादा छात्रों को इन ग्रामीण पुस्तकालयों में मुफ्त सदस्यता प्राप्त है जो नवीन तकनीक से लैस हैं।
