Last month, on September 23, Gaon Connection published a story on how the Shakti app for women's safety was not working. Jharkhand Police took note of it and has fixed the app, which has started functioning from October 1. The app can now be downloaded from the state police’s website jhpolice.gov.in

Recently, a 16-year-old girl from Dumka, was set on fire by her stalker and killed. A couple of days later, a minor girl who was four months pregnant was found dead and hanging from a tree in Dumka. The Jharkhand Police had launched a mobile application Shakti to help women in distress, but the app is not functioning and few even know of its existence.

A cadre of Banking Sakhi, Samuh Sakhis, Agricultural Livelihood Sakhis, Health Sakhi, and Vidyut Sakhi will be trained to become master trainers in self-defence.

Tribal women from the Debakumar village of Balasore in Odisha, turn to the eco-friendly Sabai grass to make handicrafts, that is helping them earn a livelihood. Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society provides skill up-gradation training to these women.

पिछले महीने, 23 सितंबर को, गाँव कनेक्शन ने एक खबर प्रकाशित की थी कि महिला सुरक्षा के लिए शक्ति ऐप कैसे काम नहीं कर रहा था। झारखंड पुलिस ने इस पर संज्ञान लिया और ऐप को ठीक कर दिया है, जो 1 अक्टूबर से काम करने लगा है। ऐप को अब राज्य पुलिस की वेबसाइट jhpolice.gov.in से डाउनलोड किया जा सकता है।

उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में आयोजित कार्यक्रम में प्रधानमंत्री ने 1.60 लाख महिला स्वयं सहायता समूहों के लिए 1,000 करोड़ रुपए व मुख्यमंत्री कन्या सुमंगला योजना के लाभार्थियों को 20 करोड़ रुपए का ऑनलाइन ट्रांसफर किए साथ ही 202 विकास खंडों में टेक होम राशन प्लांटों का शिलान्यास किया।
