He has stated that the switch to solar energy will contribute in achieving the objective of developing the state into a ‘trillion dollar economy’ and rural areas will benefit on priority. बुंदेलखंड के महोबा में सौर क्रांति आने के बावज़ूद किसानों के लिए उनके सौर पम्प साल के छह महीने सफ़ेद हाथी से ज़्यादा कुछ नहीं है। लेकिन जिन मौसम में खेतों की सिंचाई में सौर पम्प इस्तेमाल नहीं होते है तब ग्रिड से जोड़कर बिजली तो पैदा की ही जा सकती है। इससे किसानों को उसके बदले पैसे भी मिल जाएंगे।

कृषि क्षेत्र को सोलराइज करने की भारत की महत्वाकांक्षी योजना में सबकी भागीदारी और किसी तरह की लैंगिक असमानता के बिना पीएम-कुसुम योजना को फिर से शुरू किए जाने की जरूरत है। सौर सिंचाई पंप सेटों को मीटर से जोड़कर किसानों को उनकी सौर ऊर्जा का 60-70 प्रतिशत बेचकर कमाई करने में सक्षम बनाना होगा।

Under the Centre's KUSUM scheme, farmers are provided huge subsidy to adopt off-grid solar-powered agricultural pumps to meet the irrigation needs. But, in drought-hit parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada, about four months a year these solar pumps are of no use as water sources dry up. Experts call for reinventing the scheme
