Gaon Connection met several such children and here is what they told us.

After remaining shut for almost two years, primary schools in Jhargram district reopened on February 16. However, the situation of 69 rural schools in Belpahari circle is pitiable as many have neither piped drinking water nor functional toilets. To cook mid-day meals, water has to be fetched from far away, and teachers say that all complaints have fallen on deaf ears. A ground report.

Whether it's the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the Vishwanath Corridor in Varanasi, or the monuments devoted to political leaders in Lucknow, it is hard to ignore Mirzapur's contribution to the coveted pink sandstone. But the real cost is borne by the district's villagers who suffer diseases including tuberculosis, due to stone mining that has turned the region into a toxic dust bowl. A ground report.

India has around 420 million active online gamers and the industry is slated to grow to five billion dollars by 2025. The number of children who are addicted to gaming for stakes and online gambling is increasing and many of them are dying by suicide as they lose money online. The central law that governs gambling was enacted way back in 1867 and is toothless.

This has affected the supply of dry rations to hundreds of thousand under-6 children enrolled with these early childcare centres. Gaon Connection visited these locked up centres and here is what parents and the protesting anganwadi workers had to say. A ground report.
