ग्रामीण भारत के मीडिया संस्थान ने सीमित संसाधनों ने 2021 में देश के अलग-अलग राज्यों से हजारों खबरें की । जिसमें कई गंभीर मुद्दे थे, तो कई लोगों के सरोकार की, कुछ खबरें ऐसे थीं, जिन्हें लोगों की काफी सराहना मिली। इस लिस्ट में वो 10 खबरें जो लोगों ने वेबसाइट पर खूब पढ़ी हैं।

गांव कनेक्शन का लाइव शो ‘गांव कैफे’ ग्रामीण मसलों को आवाज देने वाला एक अनूठा कार्यक्रम है। इस साल शो में खेती पर महामारी के प्रभाव से लेकर, अचानक बाढ़ और महिलाओं के खिलाफ अपराधों जैसे तमाम मुद्दों पर अपने विचार और चिंताओं को साझा करने के लिए देश के दूर-दराज के गांवों के निवासियों सहित विभिन्न क्षेत्रों के विशेषज्ञों को आमंत्रित किया गया था।

Yesterday, two minor Dalit sisters were raped and killed. Their bodies were found hanging from a khair tree in a sugarcane field in their village in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. A heinous crime that is distressingly frequent in rural India. Meanwhile, the conviction rate under POSCO Act is only about 40 per cent. And, a significant chunk of the Nirbhaya funds remain unutilised by the state governments.

India is the leading producer and consumer of cumin (jeera) in the world with Gujarat and Rajasthan contributing more than 90% of the domestic production. However, changing climate and rising risks are making jeera farmers switch to other crops. Both acreage under cumin and production of the spice has dropped leading to a fall in supply. This has sent the cumin prices soaring and are at present at a 70-year high. Read on to know more.

Natural gas is the primary component used in manufacturing these fertilisers and Russia which is waging a war in Ukraine is the biggest exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG) which means the subsidised prices at which the Indian farmers buy these fertilisers will shoot Indian government's expenses.
