Single-use plastics have invaded the villages where there are no waste management systems in place. For instance, in West Bengal, Assam, Punjab and Bihar, the percentage of villages that have mechanisms to manage solid waste are 0.82%, 1.08%, 1.67% and 1.97%, respectively.
