दो आदिवासी बहनें जब मंच पर गाती हैं, तो उनकी आवाज़ सिर्फ संगीत नहीं, संस्कृति की पुकार बन जाती है। उनके गीत पूरे आदिवासी समाज से पूछते हैं कि क्या हम अपनी जड़ों, अपनी पहचान और अपनी कुड़ुख भाषा से दूर जाते जा रहे हैं?

यहां की महिलाएं खेतों में काम करने के साथ-साथ जंगल से लकड़ी बीनने का काम करती हैं। लेकिन गाँव की कुछ जागरूक महिलाएं सब्जी मसाला बनाने का रोजगार शुरू की हैं, जिससे उन्हें आर्थिक लाभ मिल रहा है।

गांव कनेक्शन ने सारंडा के जंगल में रहने वाले ग्रामीणों खासकर गर्भवती महिलाओं की दिक्कतों को प्रमुखता से दिखाया था, जिसके बाद मुख्यमंत्री हेमंत सोरेन ने स्थानीय जिला प्रशासन को इन गांवों तक हर सरकारी सुविधाएं उपलब्ध कराने का आदेश दिया था।

महाराष्ट्र के 15,000 से अधिक किसान अखिल भारतीय किसान सभा के नेतृत्व में इन दिनों मुंबई में डेरा डाले हैं। इन किसानों की मांग है कि 7/12 भूमि का अधिकार देिया जाए, तीनों कृषि क़ानूनों को निरस्त किया जाए, एमएसपी पर एक केंद्रीय कानून बनाया जाए, कर्ज़ माफी योजना को फिर से शुरू किया जाए और नए श्रम क़ानूनों को वापस लिया जाए।

While weaving and embroidering shawls with their tribal motifs has been an age-old practice in the Dongria Kondh tribal community in Odisha, it has also become an important source of income for 1,800 tribal women in Rayagada district, as their traditional shawls are being sold far and wide. They now await a GI tag for their labour of love.

पूर्वी सिंहभूम जिले के आदिवासी लोग जंगली पैदावार इकट्ठा करने के लिए दलमा के जंगलों की वार्षिक यात्रा करते हैं। उनकी महिलाएं अपना सिंदूर पोछ देती हैं, चूड़ियाँ हटा देती हैं और अस्थायी 'विधवा' बनने की कोशिश करती हैं और अपने देवता सिंहभोंगा से प्रार्थना करती हैं। ग्रामीणों का कहना है कि सेंद्रा युवा पीढ़ी के साथ जंगली पैदावार और दुर्लभ जड़ी-बूटियों के ज्ञान को साझा करने का एक तरीका है।

Women from the Kondh tribal community in Kandhamal, Odisha have been trained to make laddus from the mahua flowers that has enhanced their livelihood. The state government plans to introduce these nutritious laddus in anganwadis and tribal residential schools.

Thanks to a jewellery-making training capsule organised in Rayagada, a tribal dominated district in Odisha, 150 Kondh and Saura tribe women make necklaces, cuff bracelets, earrings, rings, hairpins, waistbands and bangles out of bamboo and are earning up to Rs 25,000 a month.
