Like a host of other art forms in the country that have dwindled and disappeared over the years, the Gulabi Meenakari art form in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was also petering out. But, a GI tag, and encouragement from the government in promoting it, has given it a shot in the arm. Many women are earning a livelihood as they are being trained in it.
