महाराष्ट्र के नासिक जिले के कम्युनिटी रेडियो 'रेडियो विश्वास' ने कोविड-19 के दौरान ऐसे बच्चों को पढ़ाई जारी करने में मदद की, जिसके पास स्मार्ट फोन नहीं थे। 'रेडियो विश्वास' राष्ट्रीय कम्युनिटी रेडियो पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है।

This all-girls band is quite unique in its use of kitchen equipment to create music. Chimta, belan, thali and oakhli all are used as musical equipment without the frills of a conventional musical instrument or a vocalist. Still their music leaves its listeners hooked. What's more, with the sole medium of its songs, this band seeks to fulfill its social obligation by spreading the awareness

Thinking of it, while 2022 has been like any other year before it, it has also been like none other in so many ways. Gaon Connection celebrated its 10th anniversary on December 2, and renewed its vows to remain a committed chronicler of rural India. It also launched Gaon Radio, a national audio streaming platform which is one more step in the direction of empowering rural citizens.

In February, officials at Madhya Pradesh's Panna Tiger Reserve radio-tagged various species of vultures including the Himalayan Griffon vultures which are native to the Tibetan region. The radio-tagging efforts have bore fruits as the migratory routes pursued by these airborne scavengers has been traced in an unprecedented achievement. Details here.
