ये आशंका वर्ल्ड वेदर एट्रिब्यूशन ग्रुप के तहत प्रमुख जलवायु वैज्ञानिको की अंतरराष्ट्रीय टीम ने जताई है। 22 शोधकर्ताओं की इस टीम में भारत, अमेरिका, ब्रिटेन, थाईलैंड, ऑस्ट्रेलिया, डेनमार्क, फ्रांस, जर्मनी, केन्या और नीदरलैंड के विश्वविद्यालयों और मौसम संबंधी एजेंसियों के वैज्ञानिक शामिल थे।

नौ अगस्त को जारी एआर6 वर्किंग ग्रुप फर्स्ट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत के दक्षिणी हिस्सों में बारिश में वृद्धि कहीं ज्यादा गंभीर होगी। दक्षिणी-पश्चिम तटों पर बारिश में 1850-1900 की तुलना में 20 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हो सकती है। अगर पृथ्वी का तापमान चार डिग्री सेल्सियस बढ़ता है तो भारत में बारिश लगभग 40 प्रतिशत बढ़ सकती है।

The district administration has denied any linkage to the heatwave. Gaon Connection travelled to the eastern district and visited families who claim to have lost their loved ones under mysterious circumstances.
