60% of India's edible oil demand is met through imports with a large share of it coming from warring Ukraine and Russia. As supply chains get affected due to the war, edible oil prices have gone through the roof in the country. Also, overall food inflation is on the rise which is likely to dampen the Holi festivities.

राष्ट्रीय खाद्य तेल-ऑयल पाम मिशन व्यापार शिखर सम्मेलन में केंद्रीय मंत्री नरेंद्र सिंह तोमर ने कहा कि पूर्वोत्तर के राज्यों के साथ ही अन्य प्रदेशों में भी ऑयल पाम का काफी उत्पादन किया जा सकता है, जिससे आयात पर निर्भर नहीं रहना पड़ेगा।
