बाजार में नया आलू आने के बाद पुराने आलू की ना तो मांग रही है और ना ही रेट बचे हैं। कोल्ड स्टोरेज खाली करने की आखिरी तारीख बीत चुकी है लेकिन कई जगहों पर 10-15 फीसदी आलू अभी रखा है। कोल्ड स्टोरेज मालिकों के मुताबिक इसमें ज्यादातर आलू उनका है, जिन्होंने अच्छे रेट के लिए बचाकर रखा था लेकिन अब उनकी जमा भी डूब रही है।
