But with the state government's assurance to support their craft and a pinch of innovation leading to a slight rise in sales is encouraging these artisans to hang on. Details here.

Following the intricate codes of kaleen taleem hanging from their looms, 50 artisans across Budgam district in central Kashmir hand weave silk carpets, 8 feet wide and 11 feet long, which will hang on the walls of the spanking new Parliament building in New Delhi. Kashmiri carpets worth Rs 300 crores are annually exported from India.

कुप्पू स्वामी अपने पिता और दादा को लकड़ी के ब्लॉक के साथ काम करते हुए देखकर बड़े हुए, जिन्होंने सुंदर मूर्तियां बनाईं। वह एक कल्लाकुरिची शिल्पकार भी हैं। उनकी लकड़ी की नक्काशी एक फुट से लेकर चार से पांच फीट ऊंची देवताओं की मूर्तियों तक होती है।
