In order to discuss the key recommendations of the IPCC report, a virtual seminar was organised in which experts mentioned that coal-based power generation will no longer be feasible by 2030 as renewable sources will have to be exploited to meet the country's energy needs. More details here.

नौ अगस्त को जारी एआर6 वर्किंग ग्रुप फर्स्ट की रिपोर्ट के अनुसार भारत के दक्षिणी हिस्सों में बारिश में वृद्धि कहीं ज्यादा गंभीर होगी। दक्षिणी-पश्चिम तटों पर बारिश में 1850-1900 की तुलना में 20 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हो सकती है। अगर पृथ्वी का तापमान चार डिग्री सेल्सियस बढ़ता है तो भारत में बारिश लगभग 40 प्रतिशत बढ़ सकती है।

The analysis of IMD's heatwave data from March 11 till April 24 this year shows that Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh have suffered the most due to the early heatwaves in 2022. Heatwaves have also led to a decline in agricultural yields.

The Union Ministry of Earth Sciences admitted in the Parliament that the rainfall pattern in the country is getting erratic. It mentioned that the top paddy producing states such as West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are witnessing declining trends in rainfall in between 1989-2018.
