झारखंड में उरांव जनजाति से ताल्लुक रखने वाली सुप्रीति कच्छप ने आठ महीने की उम्र में अपने पिता को खो दिया था और उनकी मां ने अपने पांच बच्चों का पेट पालने के लिए दिहाड़ी के रूप में काम किया। पंचकूला में खेलो इंडिया यूथ गेम्स में सुप्रीति ने अंडर-21 वर्ग में 3,000 मीटर दौड़ में स्वर्ण पदक जीता है।
