भारत ने पहली बार हिम तेंदुओं की देशव्यापी वैज्ञानिक गणना पूरी की है, जिसमें कुल 718 तेंदुओं के होने की पुष्टि हुई। यह सर्वे हिमालयी इकोसिस्टम की सुरक्षा और इस दुर्लभ प्रजाति के संरक्षण की दिशा में एक ऐतिहासिक कदम माना जा रहा है।

सेब की कम कीमतों से परेशान हिमाचल प्रदेश के सेब बागानों ने विरोध तेज कर दिया है। किसान प्रदेश में सेब के कारोबार में शामिल कंपनियों पर लगाम लगाने और हिमाचल में कश्मीर की तर्ज पर एमआईएस योजना के तहत सेब के रेट घोषित करने की मांग कर रहे हैं।

In 2020-21, over 64,879.26 metric tonnes of apples and 3,67,309.04 metric tonnes of potatoes were produced in Uttarakhand, a large chunk of it in Chamoli district. But, due to a lack of cold storage units, farmers are forced to sell their produce at a very low rate. Setting up cold storage facilities can cut down post harvest losses and increase farmers' income.
