कृषि वैज्ञानिकों ने अपने एक अध्ययन में पाया है कि देश के अन्य हिस्सों में उगायी जाने वाली खीरे की सफेद गूदे की किस्मों के मुकाबले नारंगी-गूदे वाले खीरे की किस्म में कैरोटीनॉयड मात्रा चार से पांच गुना अधिक होती है।
