August 13 -- celebrated as 'World Organ Donation Day' -- is dedicated to motivate people to pledge to donate their organs. India is struggling with an acute shortage of organs for transplantation. There's a huge gap between the number of organs required and the organs available for transplantation. At least 15 patients die waiting for an organ every day and for every 10 minutes a new name is added to the waiting list. In an interview with Gaon Connection, Dr Manmeet Singh, urologist and renal transplant surgeon, shares his views on various issues concerning organ donation in India
