होली से पहले उपवास, पहाड़ से लाए गए पत्थरों के रंग और ढोलक-नगाड़ों की थाप, महाराष्ट्र के भील आदिवासियों का होली नृत्य सिर्फ़ उत्सव नहीं, एक जीवित परंपरा है। नंदूरबार के कलाकार गौतम खर्डे और उनकी मंडली इस लोककला को गाँव से राष्ट्रीय मंच तक पहुँचा रहे हैं।

Bundeli Rai is the traditional folk dance of Bundelkhand. Rai means mustard seed. The way mustard seed swings around in the saucer, the dancers also dance likewise on the beats of traditional musical instruments of Nagadiya, Dholak, Jheeka, and Ramtoola. This traditional folk dance was fading away when the Jhansi administration stepped in to revive the culture, also support the livelihood of dancers and singers.

बुंदेली राई बुंदेलखंड का पारंपरिक लोक नृत्य है। राई का मतलब सरसों होता है। जिस तरीके से किसी थाली में रखे सरसों के दाने घूमते हैं, उसी तरह नर्तक भी नगड़िया, ढोलक, झीका और रामतूला जैसे पारंपरिक वाद्ययंत्रों की थाप पर नाचते हैं। यह पारंपरिक लोक नृत्य लुप्ति के कगार पर था लेकिन झांसी प्रशासन ने इस संस्कृति को पुनर्जीवित करने के साथ ही गायकों और नर्तकियों का सपोर्ट कर रहे हैं।
