Aul — a small town in Odisha’s Kendrapara district has got the attention of the state government that has announced the setting up of a football academy with all facilities there to encourage more young players to step up.

Deepak Rawat had hoped his participation in the Santosh Trophy would be enough to get a job. But that didn't happen. So, he put his talent to the next best use – train kids and youths in his village and mould them into national-level players

As a child, he walked 23 kms to Srinagar to practise football in the playground there, and now Muzamil Mahmood, a primary school teacher in Ganderbal district of J&K, has made it his mission to share his love for football with the children in his school and village.

जितनी बार मैंने उन्हें अपने खिलाड़ियों को गले लगाते देखा हर बार मुझे ये लगा कि एक माँ अपने बच्चे को समझा रही हो कि, "हार और जीत ज़िंदगी का हिस्सा है।तुम लोगों ने जो किया है उस पर गर्व है मुझे।"

उत्तर प्रदेश के एक छोटे से जिले बलरामपुर के शेखुईपुरा गांव के रहने वाले आकाश मिश्रा वर्तमान में भारत की जूनियर टीम 'इंडियन एरोज' का हिस्सा हैं। 13 साल की उम्र में आकाश का चयन जर्मनी के एक फुटबॉल ट्रेनिंग प्रोग्राम के लिए हुआ था।

इस साल भारत की अंडर-17 फुटबॉल टीम टर्की, भूटान में मैच खेलने गई। इसके बाद गोवा में फिर कैंप लगा और फिर मार्च के शुरूआत में खिलाड़ी वापस अपने घर लौट आईं, फिर लॉकडाउन शुरू हो गया। इसके साथ ही इन खिलाड़ियों के जीवन जीने की जद्दोहहद भी।
