11 year old Nigerian Boy, creating wonders in hyperreal drawings

Meet an 11-year-old artist who is creating waves with his unique creations in Lagos, Nigeria.

Kareem Waris Olamilekan started drawing at the age six and gained professional expertise at eight years old. Currently, he is the youngest professional artist in Nigeria.

He addresses his art genre as "hyper-realism." His illustrations reflect acute reflection and emphasis even the minutest of subtle elements

"The motivation behind it is that something going ahead around me, particularly my family. The perspiration on it symbolizes diligent work and battling. Also, the spoon symbolizes sustenance. Everyone in my general public has little now, or my boulevards, they battle, battle, they sweat for their eats," he said.

Waris says that Hyperreal Drawings requires a lot of practice 


 His work is inspired by the world around him. He states that the struggle, the sweat and the sublime reality are what keeps him going.

Currently, Waris is the youngest professional artist in Nigeria.
